Melvyn Grovit, DPM, MS, CNS
Crohn's Disease & Ulcerative Colitis
I became a CNS in 1993. This became the vehicle for pursuing my interest in nutrition. Conceptually, I did not realize that I actually had been personalizing nutrition for years in order to salvage my own life, as I was afflicted with a severe case of Crohn's disease. In 2004 a dying child entered my life, as she was suffering from severe malnutrition secondary to Crohn's disease. I was able to personalize a diet and nutraceuticals for her. She is now 30 years old and has been in complete remission for16 years. That personalization and the credibility that the CNS credential provided me, gave me the drive to expand my efforts to all children afflicted with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
