Summary

Oklahoma licenses dietitians only as licensed dietitians. However, there is no licensure requirement for providing nutrition care. Only licensed individuals may use the titles "licensed dietitian," "provisional licensed dietitian," and "registered dietitian." Click on the state statute and rules for more information.

Qualification Requirements for State Licensure or State Certification:
  • Academic: A baccalaureate or post-baccalaureate degree including a minimum of 24 semester hours from the fields of human nutrition, food and nutrition, dietetics, or food systems management, or an equivalent major course of study approved by the Oklahoma Advisory Committee on Dietetic Registration.
  • Experience: Successful completion of an internship or preplanned professional experience program approved by the Oklahoma Advisory Committee on Dietetic Registration.
  • Examination: The Registered Dietitian (RD) examination established by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
