The American Nutrition Association Invites Entrepreneurs and Investors to the Personalized Nutrition Pitch Slam

CHICAGO (September 15, 2020) - The American Nutrition Association (ANA) is bringing together business, scientists, and health professionals for the 61st Personalized Nutrition Summit 2020 taking place November 12-13, 2020. The virtual Summit is comprised of two days of events including the Business Leaders Forum, the Science and Practice Conference, and the Nutrition Expo.

New This Year: The Personalized Nutrition Business Leaders Forum is a virtual day convening nutrition-related businesses and professionals to showcase cutting-edge innovations. The Forum will be an opportunity to learn about new personalized nutrition solutions in the marketplace and hear from investors.

“The ANA brings together and highlights new and emerging companies focused on personalized nutrition, science-based ingredients, products, and technologies,” said Michael Stroka, CEO of the ANA. Some of the areas of interest are:

  • Personalized Nutrition tools, technologies, devices, wearables, and digital platforms (including diet and menu plans, etc.)
  • How to Make Nutrition Personalized and Convenient
  • Creating and Supporting a Virtual Nutrition Counseling Practice

The Business Leaders Forum will culminate in the Pitch Slam, where select companies will pitch their company and products in front of personalized nutrition industry leaders and investors. Each selected company will have the opportunity to deliver a recorded ten-minute pitch, followed by a live Q &A. Each company will be assigned a mentor to help develop their presentation prior to the conference. The Business Leaders Forum and final round of the pitch slam will be held on Thursday, November 12.

“The ANA’s Pitch Slam is an opportunity to introduce entrepreneurs to investors and the broader personalized nutrition ecosystem,” said Tom Aarts, ANA Foundation Board Member. “In my long history in the investor community, I’ve seen how this can impact the trajectory of a growing company.”

Finalists will be announced by Friday, October 9 and will be invited to the conference with the opportunity to present at the Business Leaders Forum to a group of select investors.

A selection committee will evaluate and interact with applicants when determining the invited companies.

The top three finalists will also receive a 2 hour private consultation after the pitch slam with an industry leader in the personalized nutrition ecosystem.

The application process is free and submissions are due by Friday, October 2.
