Addressing candida with your clients

Fom our Nutrition Science Team here at the ANA, feel free to use this blurb on your social media or with your clients:

Candidiasis can occur when the yeast candida albicans grows in excess. Candida overgrowth is linked to antibiotic and medication use, as well as medical conditions like diabetes and consuming a diet high in refined sugars and alcohol. People with weakened immune systems are also susceptible to this common fungal infection. Symptoms range from oral thrush to genital and urinary tract infections, skin issues (rashes), fatigue and joint pain. Yeast infections can also cause nutritional deficiencies and digestive issues, both of which can increase inflammation in the gut, while also triggering neuroinflammation. Candida overgrowth is therefore linked to several cognitive symptoms, among those brain fog and memory issues.

Choline for Cognitive Health

Choline is a powerhouse nutrient for your brain! You may be aware that adequate choline intake is essential during pregnancy, infancy, and childhood to promote healthy brain development. But did you know that obtaining enough choline in adult life is equally important?
