Nurses + Nurse Practitioners
California Board of Registered Nursing (CBRN)
The CBRN recognizes CME credit as transferrable for their members. Nurses may receive CEUs after submitting their CME attendance certificate directly to their board. (Renewal)
American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP)
American Academy of Nurse Practitioners accepts CME-accredited courses for their members as part of their requirements for recertification. (Recertification FAQ)
American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
The ANCC accepts formally approved CME accredited courses for its members to gain CEUs. (ANCC)
Nurse Midwives
The American Midwifery Certification Board accepts CEs for certificate maintenance from the ACCME. (Category 1)
Pharmacist
Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) | California State Board of Pharmacy
If a CE course is not accredited by the ACPE, or approved as CE for pharmacists, you may petition the board for CE credit by submitting a "Pharmacists Petition for Continuing Education Credit from A Non- Recognized Provider" form from www.pharmacy.ca.gov and a fee of $40 per hour of coursework. When submitting the petition, a copy of the completion certificate, a copy of the course brochure or advertisement, and course outline is required.
Physician (Non ACCME)
American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
AOA Category 2A credit will be awarded for AMA credits for live/interactive/formal/real-time activities, while AOA Category 2B will be issued for AMA credits for non-interactive/on-demand/enduring material/home study activities. DO participants may submit a copy of their CME Certificate of Attendance to the AOA office.
American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP)
Activities that have AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ are automatically accepted as AAFP Elective credit. These activities are not automatically considered to have AAFP Prescribed credit. (AAFP Credit)
Physician Assistant
American Academy of Physician Assistants
The American Academy of Physician Assistants accepts Category 1 credit from AMA Category 1 CME organizations accredited by the ACCME. AAPA accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society.

Certification requirements include 100 hours of CME, 50 of which must be Category 1 credits and the rest can be either Category 1 or 2. (NCCPA CME)

Registered Dietician
Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
The Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) automatically accepts continuing education credits obtained from ACCME-accredited organizations. Please check with your healthcare licensing board to inquire if prior approval by CDR is required to obtain continuing education credits for an activity despite this circumstance.
