Joye Blount retired May, 2016 as a Senior Vice President and Wealth Management Advisor with the Private Client Reserve at U.S. Bank Corporation (San Diego) and currently serves as President of Knight Angels in Charlotte, North Carolina, a private equity fund devoted to anonymous philanthropy and financial support of grassroots leaders and organizations that improve their local communities.
Ms. Blount’s 20 years of experience in corporate banking, which includes positions with Nations Bank and Bank of America, has spanned roles in Philanthropic Management, Private Wealth Management, Custodial Trust and Investment Management, Corporate Communications, Human Resource Management, Corporate and Consumer Real Estate, and Mergers and Acquisition Integration Management. Prior to her banking career, she served as a middle school teacher and principal for 12 years.
Ms. Blount continues her passion and dedication to serving the communities in which she lives by serving as a volunteer, philanthropist, and/or board member with organizations including The San Diego Symphony, The National Conflict Resolution Center, The USO, The Girl Scouts of the USA, The San Diego Timken Museum of Art, Charter One Hundred, The San Diego Futures Foundation, The Balboa Park Conservancy, The Point Loma Trust, The Zoological Society of San Diego Foundation, The Salvation Army, and The San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance. Ms. Blount has also served in multiple advisory board roles including The Salk Institute, Point Loma Nazarene President’s Community Council, San Diego State University Arts Alive, and is affiliated with J. Craig Venter Institute.
Ms. Blount has held FINRA Series 7 and 66 certifications in addition to a Six Sigma Green Belt certification. Ms. Blount earned a B.S Degree in Education from Winthrop University and a Master’s Degree in Leadership from The University of North Carolina.
